Bears place DE Ferguson on IR
The Sports Xchange
The Chicago Bears placed defensive end Ego Ferguson on season-ending injured reserve Saturday and signed defensive lineman Bruce Gaston.
The Bears had listed Ferguson as doubtful for Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions with a knee injury. The second-year player appeared in four games this season, making three tackles. Ferguson has appeared in 20 games with one start over two seasons, recording 36 tackles and two sacks.
Gaston has appeared in two games this season with the Green Bay Packers, with one tackle. The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Gaston entered the NFL in 2014 with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent out of Purdue.
