Bears optimistic QB Cutler will play

The Chicago Bears are optimistic quarterback Jay Cutler will play against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday.

A source told ESPN’s Adam Schefter that Cutler will test his injured hamstring prior to the game.

Cutler was officially listed as questionable. He strained his hamstring trying to track down Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tony Jefferson after throwing an interception in a Week 2 loss at Soldier Field.

Cutler didn’t play last week, giving way to Jimmy Clausen in a shutout loss at Seattle. Cutler was limited in practice the entire week, splitting practice reps with Clausen.

Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is expected to miss his third game in a row because of a hamstring injury,
