Adam Gase is following new Bears head coach John Fox to Chicago.

The Bears announced Wednesday night that they reached agreement with Gase to become their offensive coordinator. According to NFL.com, the deal is for three years.

Gase was reported to be under consideration for the offensive coordinator jobs with the Jacksonville Jaguars or the Baltimore Ravens, but those vacancies were filled.

The 36-year-old Gase served as the Denver Broncos’ offensive coordinator the past two years under Fox, who was the head coach in Denver for four years before he was fired after the season ended with the team losing in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Before Gase was promoted to offensive coordinator by the Broncos, he was an assistant for four years in Denver. Gase coached wide receivers in 2009-10 and quarterbacks, including Tim Tebow, in 2011-12.

For the past two seasons, Gase worked with quarterback Peyton Manning and the Broncos set an NFL record with 606 points in 2013, when they reached the Super Bowl, and were second in the league in scoring this year with 482 points.

The Broncos also led the NFL in total offense (430.1 yards per game) and passing offense (315.8 ypg) the past two seasons.

Gase will be in charge of rejuvenating a Bears offense, with Jay Cutler at quarterback, that finished 23rd in scoring offense this year.

Before coming to Denver, Gase was an offensive assistant for the San Francisco 49ers in 2008 and with the Detroit Lions for five seasons as a scouting assistant (2003-05), offensive assistant (2005), offensive quality control coach (2006) and quarterbacks coach (2007).

Gase began his coaching career at LSU under head coach Nick Saban as a defensive graduate assistant in 2000.

The Bears also announced that strength and conditioning coordinator Mike Clark that he will not return.
