Bears’ Conte leaves with eye injury
Chicago Bears safety Chris Conte suffered an eye injury during the first quarter of Thursday’s game against the Detroit Lions.
After the 25-year-old Conte left the field, his condition initially was announced as a head injury, but in the second half it was changed to an eye problem. He did not return to the game.
Earlier this season, Conte dealt with a concussion and sat out a game last month with a shoulder injury.
Conte has three interceptions this season, boosting his career total to nine in four years.
Bears defensive end Cornelius Washington suffered a chest injury and also did not return to the game.
