Five-time Pro Bowl safety Adrian Wilson on Monday signed a one-day deal that allows him to retire as a member of the Arizona Cardinals.

The move came 14 years to the day after Arizona drafted him. Wilson, 35, is scheduled to announce his retirement Tuesday.

Despite having preseason stints with the New England Patriots in 2013 and the Chicago Bears in 2014, he never played a regular-season down with any team but the Cardinals.

He played in 181 games for the Cardinals from 2001-12 and said that he expects to have a front-office role with the team moving forward.

Wilson is one of only six players in NFL history with at least 25 sacks and 25 interceptions, joining Ronde Barber, Brian Dawkins, Rodney Harrison, Ray Lewis and William Thomas.

He compiled 25.5 sacks, 27 interceptions, 15 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries in his career. Additionally, he scored four touchdowns.

Arizona president Michael Bidwill said Wilson will be inducted into the team’s ring of honor this year.
