5 Reasons The Seahawks Will Win The Super Bowl

Find out why Seattle will take home their second straight Lombardi Trophy.

The Seattle Seahawks are looking to become the first team in a decade to repeat as Super Bowl champions. They’ll have to go through another legendary quarterback and a legendary head coach to do so. Here’s the main reasons to believe they’ll be able to accomplish the historic feat:

1. No Stress

The Seahawks know what to expect at the Super Bowl and all of the pressure this week is off them. They have begrudgingly become “America’s Team” due solely to their opponents being reprehensible in the eyes of the public.

While the Patriots are being inundated by questions about ball pressure and PSI, Seattle is able to go about their business of preparing for a very game opponent.

On top of all that, New England is facing the possibility of losing three consecutive Super Bowls and even though it shouldn’t mar the Belichick/Brady legacy, it likely will. That’s even more added pressure.

2. ‘Hawks Can Shrink The Field

It’s said that a deep threat at wide receiver is the one thing that will keep an opposing defensive coordinator awake at night most.

New England doesn’t really have one of those as Tom Brady and Brandon LaFell don’t exactly have the type of connection that Brady did with Randy Moss.

Just as they did in last year’s Super Bowl (due to Peyton Manning’s weak arm), the Seattle defense can press up on the Patriots pass catchers and play the underneath game while daring Brady to beat them deep. That was the game plan of the New York Giants the last time the Patriots were in the Super Bowl.

Seattle can load up to stop the Patriots running game as well as the underneath passing. The Seahawks’ athletic linebackers can help on Rob Gronkowski and keep him in check.

3. No Repeat Of Wilson’s Last Performance

Russell Wilson played arguably the worst game of his life against the Green Bay Packers as he threw four interceptions in the Seahawks’ improbable come from behind win.

Wilson has been one of the most consistent performers in the NFL over his three years in the league and the odds of him replicating his NFC Championship Game performance are astronomical.

Although Colts’ quarterback Andrew Luck is very mobile, Indianapolis doesn’t put much of any read option in their game plan. The Patriots defense is going to have to contend with Wilson as a runner and a passer, and that’s something that they really haven’t encountered this season.

4. Team of Destiny?

There’s no good reason why the Seahawks are in the Super Bowl. It took about five nearly impossible acts for the Green Bay Packers to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory and each of them occurred.

Seattle is always a very loose team and right now they have to feel utterly bulletproof about the way things have transpired.

We’ve seen near impossible runs before and this has the makings of yet another one. The Seahawks are quite possibly the most confident team in the NFL and when the ball is bouncing their way they are just about impossible to beat.

5. They Have Gamers

The New England Patriots of the early 2000’s were winning Super Bowls with a quarterback that not everyone embraced as great and a group of receivers who didn’t put up huge numbers, but made big plays.

Does that remind you of anyone?

Despite heading to his second Super Bowl in as many years, there is still lots of debate whether Wilson is a great quarterback or a simple game manager who doesn’t make mistakes. Still, Wilson makes big plays when his team calls upon him.

Nobody wants the Seahawks wide receiving corps on their fantasy teams, but “Angry” Doug Baldwin, Jermaine Kearse, Ricardo Lockett and company continue to come up with big catches when the ‘Hawks need them to.

Seattle is truly an example of the sum being greater than their parts individually.
