49ers activate DL Dorsey, put NT Williams on IR

The San Francisco 49ers added defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey to the 53-man roster Monday and placed nose tackle Ian Williams on injured reserve.

Dorsey had been on short-term IR all season after suffering a torn left biceps in training camp. He returned to practice three weeks ago, and Monday was the deadline for the team to activate him.

Dorsey signed with the 49ers last season and had a career-high 100 tackles and added two sacks while starting 13 games.

Williams is out for the season after suffering a broken left leg against the New Orleans Saints in Week 10.

Williams finishes his fourth season with a career-high 41 tackles and one sack.
