10/12/14- NCAA Football Playoff Rankings

With Auburn losing, which four teams have the best chance to play in the playoff?

Published

on

As everyone knows this is the first season of the College Football Playoff. Four teams will make it and everyone else will have some nice parting gifts. Take note that these rankings aren’t the Top 4 teams in the country, they’re the four teams with the best chance to make the playoff.

#1 Florida State Seminoles

Florida State plays their toughest game of the season at home next Saturday night against Notre Dame. It’s not a guarantee that if the ‘Noles win they’ll go undefeated but it definitely looks that way. FSU has the best talent in the nation and the most friendly schedule going forward.

#2 Mississippi State Bulldogs

Aside from Mississippi State, Auburn looked like the best team in the SEC. The Bulldogs crushed them and there’s no reason that they won’t win out. Even if they don’t, it’s okay to lose a game in the SEC.

#3 Oklahoma Sooners

We’re aware that Baylor is still undefeated in the Big 12, but Oklahoma is a better football team and they’ll win that game head-to-head. A one-loss Oklahoma team should be good enough to find their way in the “Final Four.”

#4 Oregon Ducks

Oregon blew out UCLA and if they can beat Stanford, whose offense doesn’t look like it can score against anyone legitimate, they’ll be in really good shape. If Oregon can run the table and win the Pac-12 title with one loss, that should be enough to get them in.
