10-12-14 NCAA Coach Of The Year Rankings

Which coaches are doing the best job in this crazy 2014 season?

Coaching matters in football more than any other sport. Coaching matters even more in college football as you can outscheme your opponents on a weekly basis. We are going to rank the Top 5 coaches in college football from week to week in our Coach of the Year Rankings.

#1 Dan Mullen, Mississippi State Bulldogs

Dan Mullen takes over the top spot as his Bulldogs knocked off Gus Malzahn’s Auburn Tigers on Saturday. Many feel that Mullen was the main reason that Urban Meyer won titles at Florida and he’s finally got his players and his offense set up in “Stark-Vegas.”

#2 Rich Rodriguez, Arizona Wildcats

Even though the Wildcats lost to USC, Rich Rod shouldn’t lose his spot as he’s getting great effort from a team that isn’t as talented as most in the Pac-12. If their kicker makes an easy kick we have an entirely different outlook on Arizona today.

#3 Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss Rebels

Mississippi is the epicenter of college football these days and Ole Miss head coach Hugh Freeze has transformed his great recruiting class to a great team on the field. WIth wins over Alabama and Texas A & M, Freeze’s team has been one of the biggest surprises in the nation.

#4 Art Briles, Baylor

Briles’ offense just put up 61 points against TCU, and they needed all but two of those. Briles is one of the greatest offensive coaches in the nation and Baylor is two victories against Oklahoma and Oklahoma State away from competing in the playoff.

#5 Jimbo Fisher, FSU

It’s not popular to have Jimbo in the Top 5, but the ‘Noles keep winning, even if they’re not playing as well as some expect. Will he have to win a second consecutive national title before he garners some national respect?
