Source: Newberry LB Edmond Robinson Worked Out for Cardinals, Texans and Bucs

Newberry LB Edmond Robinson is benefiting from his solid performances at East-West Shrine Game and NFL Scouting Combine

Published

on

Per a source, Newberry linebacker Edmond Robinson has had workouts with the Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Atlanta Falcons are also said to be on the list of teams he’ll be meeting with in the near future.

Keep in mind that Falcons’ new head coach Dan Quinn was used to coaching plenty of  superior defensive talent during his tenure as defensive coordinator with the Seattle Seahawks. A player like Robinson is not a finished product, but could be coached into a real force once he gets his legs under him in the NFL.

Robinson has kept his draft stock rising by out-performing his small-school label at both the East-West Shrine Game and NFL Scouting Combine.

Projected to be taken off draft boards in the middle rounds of the NFL Draft, Robinson quietly put together a great combine effort. He ranked near the top or middle of nearly all the categories of the combine drills. More importantly, he showed his athleticism during the drills that can’t be measured with a stopwatch or measuring stick.

He led the team in tackles (68) his senior season and shows great quickness and range. Robinson is long and extremely athletic (6-foot-3 and 245-pounds), and flashes an ability that few can duplicate. He is a prospect with a tremendously high ceiling due to his character, size and ability.
