Cardinals release RB Rainey
With Arizona running back Jonathan Dwyer placed on the nonfootball injury list following his arrest on charges of aggravated assault stemming from two alleged domestic violence incidents involving his wife and son, the door appeared open for back-up Chris Rainey to see some action.
That door closed very quickly.
According to Fox Sports, the Cardinals waived Rainey on Thursday because of his previous alleged domestic violence incidents.
Rainey’s career has been marked by trouble since he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012 and subsequently arrested.
Rainey was with the Colts during the summer, was released and signed by the Cardinals.
The Cardinals signed Jalen Parmele, a four-year veteran who was among the team’s final roster cuts before the season started.
