S Lowery agrees to terms with Colts

The Indianapolis Colts reached a contract agreement with unrestricted free agent safety Dwight Lowery on Friday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the team.

Lowery started 15 games for the Atlanta Falcons last year and had a career-high 85 tackles and two interceptions, five passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery.

His career totals include 302 tackles, 12 interceptions, four sacks, seven forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and 50 passes defensed in 84 games for the New York Jets (2008-2010), Jacksonville Jaguars (2011-13) and Falcons (2014).

The Jets drafted Lowery in the first round in 2008. He returned two interceptions for touchdowns during the 2010 season in New York.
