Clay to meet Browns; Cameron visits Dolphins
Miami Dolphins tight end Charles Clay is scheduled to meet with the Cleveland Browns, who are expected to let free agent Jordan Cameron find another home.
Cameron could find a home in Miami, and was scheduled to visit the Dolphins on Thursday.
Miami will need a tight end if Clay, designated as the Dolphins’ transition player, receives an offer sheet from one of several interested teams. The Browns, Buffalo Bills and Oakland Raiders have shown some level of interest in signing Clay. Clay visited the Bills earlier this week.
Cameron had 80 catches in 2013 but battled concussions in 2014 and caught only 23 passes for 424 yards and two touchdowns.
Clay can receive a guaranteed $7.07 million from the Dolphins if he plays on the one-year tender. As a transition player, he can negotiate a long-term deal with any team. The Dolphins will have a chance to match.
Clay caught 58 passes for 605 yards and three touchdowns in 2014.
