Jets to release WR Harvin
Percy Harvin will be looking for his fourth team in three years on Tuesday, when the New York Jets plan to release the wide receiver rather than pay his $10.5 million salary for 2015.
Harvin, 26, was a first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings but was traded twice in the past three years — to the Seattle Seahawks and then from the Seahawks to the Jets.
Harvin’s playmaking skills and speed are likely to generate interest but his dependability might cause some pause for teams considering a long-term deal.
Teams that missed out on Randall Cobb, who re-signed with the Green Bay Packers, are likely to be at the front of the line. The Oakland Raiders and Miami Dolphins were two of the known suitors for Cobb.
