Buccaneers reportedly keep four players
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers reportedly re-signed four players on Saturday.
With free agency set to start Tuesday, the Bucs kept four players off the market, coming to agreements with defensive end Larry English, linebacker Jason Williams, safety Major Wright and tight end Luke Stocker.
English, a first-round pick by the San Diego Chargers in 2009, had one sack and 12 tackles in 12 games for the Bucs last year.
Williams joined the Buccaneers late in the season after being released by the Carolina Panthers performed well on special teams.
Stocker, a fourth-round pick in 2011, started seven games as injuries knocked out other tight ends.
Wright was a third-round pick by the Bears in 2010 when coach Lovie Smith was in Chicago. He started seven games and recorded 51 tackles in 2014.
Wright could be a candidate to start if Tampa Bay moves on from safety Dashon Goldson.
The Buccaneers entertained trade offers for Goldson last season and reportedly are listening again. Goldson has not played up to the five-year, $47.5 million contract he signed in 2013. He is scheduled to make $8 million in 2015, with half of it guaranteed.
