Report: Packers DT Guion to avoid jail time
Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Letroy Guion has agreed to a deferred prosecution agreement, resulting in probation, after he was arrested for felony marijuana and firearm possession last month, according ESPN.com.
The agreement, which will allow Guion to avoid jail time, will be signed within the next couple of weeks, the ESPN source said. He was arrested Feb. 3 in his hometown of Starke, Fla.
Guion, 27, is set to enter free agency after playing one season in Green Bay. He started all 16 games, recording 32 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
The Minnesota Vikings selected Guion in the fifth round of the 2008 draft out of Florida State.
Guion could be disciplined by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell under the league’s personal conduct policy.
