DL Dockett set to meet with 49ers
Defensive lineman Darnell Dockett is expected to be in San Francisco Monday night to meet with the 49ers, ESPN reported.
The Arizona Cardinals released Dockett on Friday. He missed the entire 2014 season because of a torn ACL.
The 34-year-old Dockett is supposedly drawing interest from a number of teams, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Rosenhaus said Dockett’s future will be resolved by the end of the week.
The Cardinals say they would like Dockett to return to the desert, but not at $6.55 million a season, which is what he is due as part of a contract he signed in 2010.
The Arizona Republic reported the Cardinals offered Dockett a one-year deal worth at least $2.5 million.
