Jets Weren’t Upfront With CJ2K About His Role With Team

Former Jets general manager John Idzik is out the door, but his dealings in New York continue to draw criticism. This time from a former player.

Two days after Gang Green declined Chris Johnson’s contract option, the 29-year-old running back told The Rich Eisen Show that the former Jets regime failed to paint an accurate picture of what his role would be in 2014.

With the offseason underway, Around The NFL explores what’s next for all 32 teams.

“Basically, it was a situation where I was going there to be the guy, or whatever,” Johnson said Monday. “And it was still said both guys (Johnson and Chris Ivory) were gonna get playing time but, you know, I think it was after the second game or something like that, it just switched over and I was getting less and less playing time.”
