The Denver Broncos confirmed Tuesday the hiring of Fred Pagac as outside linebackers coach and also named Tony Coaxum as assistant special teams coach.

Pagac’s 37 years as a coach include 13 years working with linebackers, a position he held with the Buffalo Bills in 2014.

Before joining the Bills, Pagac spent eight seasons with the Minnesota Vikings as defensive coordinator in 2011 and linebackers coach during the rest of the time there.

Other NFL jobs include linebackers coach for the Oakland Raiders from 2001 to 2003 and for the Kansas City Chiefs from 2004 to 2005.

Pagac began his coaching career at Ohio State under Woody Hayes and remained with the Buckeyes for 23 years as linebackers coach, defensive coordinator and assistant head coach.

Coaxum was a special teams coaching intern with the Baltimore Ravens last season. He also was an assistant coach at Army, his alma mater, for seven years.
