Report: Seahawks offer Lynch extension

Published

on

The Seahawks have offered running back Marshawn Lynch a contract extension that could possibly keep him in Seattle for the rest of his career, sources told NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport.

Lynch is set to become a free agent after the 2015 season. If the extension is signed, Lynch reportedly would make $10 million in 2015 instead of the $5 million he is currently due next season, the final year of what originally was a four-year, $31 million deal.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider said during Super Bowl week that he “kind of” loves Lynch’s act.

Lynch finally uttered multiple and varied responses at Super Bowl media availability Thursday after two previous appearances in which his prepared and repeated words that included “so I don’t get fined” and “you know why I’m here.”

The Seahawks without “Beast Mode” is an unfathomable scenario for the team’s fans as Lynch had another huge season with 1,306 rushing yards and 17 total touchdowns. He has rushed for at least 1,200 yards in each of the past four seasons.
