Patriots WR Edelman to miss Sunday’s game
Wide receiver Julian Edelman will not be on the field Sunday for the New England Patriots in their road game against the New York Jets.
Edelman and running back LeGarrette Blount both are injured and unavailable, the Patriots announced Saturday. Edelman did not travel with the team because of a head injury.
Edelman suffered a concussion last Sunday’s win over the Miami Dolphins and was restricted in practice during the past week. He had seven receptions for 88 yards against the Dolphins.
In 14 games this season, Edelman has 92 catches for 972 yards and four touchdowns. He also is the Patriots’ leading punt returner with a 12.3-yard average and one touchdown.
Blount has a shoulder injury that limited him in practice during the week. Jonas Gray is expected to take over for Blount.
Patriots cornerback Kyle Arrington also will not play Sunday. He has a hamstring injury.
