We’ve tracked the Heisman all season with our rankings and now it’s time for the award to be given out.

The most prestigious award in sports will be given out next Saturday and we rundown how the final vote should finish.

Final Heisman Rankings

1. Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon

Mariota was the leader in the clubhouse after his 313-yard, five-touchdown performance in a 51-13 victory over seventh-ranked Arizona, avenging the Ducks’ only loss of the season. Mariota has been consistently great all season and this can be considered a lifetime achievement type of award as he was excellent last season as well. Mariota finished 2014 with 3,783 passing yards, 669 rushing yards, 52 combined touchdowns and just two interceptions. A truly amazing campaign.

2. Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin

Melvin Gordon really needed a loss by Mariota and the Ducks, as well as a huge game against Ohio State. He didn’t get either. Gordon had his worst game of the season (against the best team they played all season) as he was held to just 76 yards on 26 carries in the Badgers’ 59-0 loss. It was still a tremendous season for Gordon as he finished with 2,336 yards rushing with 29 combined touchdowns.

3. Amari Cooper, Alabama

Amari Cooper came on strong at the end of the season but it’s very difficult, if not impossible for a wide receiver to win the Heisman. Cooper ended his season on a high note with a SEC Championship Game record 12 catches for 83 yards. Cooper finishes his junior season with an SEC record 115 catches for 1,656 yards and 14 touchdowns.
