Kelly honors former Bills teammate Talley

Published

Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly honored former teammate Darryl Talley by wearing his No. 56 jersey during player introductions before Sunday’s game against the visiting Cleveland Browns.

Talley, 54, told the Buffalo News last week that he suffers from depression, lost his business and has suicidal thoughts. He played for the Bills from 1982-94.

Kelly led the charge during pregame introductions at Ralph Wilson Stadium as he stood above the tunnel and waved a Bills flag while wearing a No. 56 jersey.

“Darryl Talley has always been one of our favorites throughout our storied history, but we believe, respectfully, that some of the accounts for this story are factually incorrect,” the Bills said in a statement to the Buffalo News.

Bills fans have raised more than $128,000 for Talley through the website GoFundMe.com.
