Vikings Pick Up Former Browns’ RB Tate Off Waivers

The Minnesota Vikings have claimed RB Ben Tate off waivers. Tate, who started 6 games for Cleveland in 2014, has 527 carries for 2,325 yards and 14 touchdowns in his four seasons playing. Tate signed with Cleveland as a free agent in the 2014 offseason after spending his first three seasons with the Houston Texans. He has rushed 106 times for 333 yards and 4 touchdowns this season. Tate originally entered the NFL as a 2nd-round pick (#58 overall) by the Houston Texans in 2010 after playing collegiately at Auburn. Tate missed the 2010 season with an ankle injury.
