Buccaneers QB Glennon says McCown will start Sunday
Apparently the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have made a change at the quarterback position.
Mike Glennon, who started the past five games at quarterback for the Bucs, said on WDAE radio in Tampa Bay that he has been benched and replaced by Josh McCown for this Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
McCown started the first three games of the season, and it is not a surprise that he apparently will be the starter again. However, it is a surprise that Glennon made the announcement, since the team has made no official announcement regarding its starting quarterback for this week.
Coach Lovie Smith had said on Monday that he was considering a change at quarterback.
Glennon has completed 57.6 percent of his passes this season, with 10 touchdown passes and six interceptions. He completed 52.5 percent of his passes with two touchdown throws and two interceptions in Sunday’s loss to the Browns.
