Browns’ Bryant to injured reserve

Published

The Cleveland Browns placed defensive lineman Armonty Bryant on season-ending injured reserve Tuesday after he damaged a knee in Sunday’s win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

To take his place on the roster, the Browns signed defensive lineman Sione Fua. The Browns also released wide receiver Lee Doss from the practice squad.

Bryant suffered ligament damage in the first quarter against the Steelers. He played in five games and started two this season, finishing the season with 11 tackles and one sack.

The Browns said Bryant will undergo surgery later this month.

The 6-foot-2, 310-pound Fua is in his fourth NFL season. Drafted by the Carolina Panthers in 2011, Fua was waived by the Denver Broncos during their final roster cuts before the 2014 season. He played in two games for the Broncos last year.

Fua has seen action in 29 career games and started 12, logging 33 tackles and one forced fumble.
