Reports: Patriots’ Ridley out for season
New England Patriots running back Stevan Ridley reportedly suffered a torn ACL and MCL on Sunday and is out for the season.
Ridley was injured in the Patriots’ 37-22 victory over the Buffalo Bills. ESPN and NFL.com both reported that tests confirmed the tears.
On WEEI radio earlier Monday, coach Bill Belichick said “it doesn’t look too good” for Ridley and linebacker Jerod Mayo, who suffered a knee injury in the game. Both were declared out for the Patriots’ game Thursday against the New York Jets.
Ridley had started five of the Patriots’ six games and was the team’s leading rusher with 340 yards on 94 attempts.
Mayo has led the team in tackles for five of the past six years. His 53 tackles are double the number of the team’s No. 2 tackler, Jamie Collins.
