Before the season, no one expected much from the Tennessee Titans, but Marcus Mariota and company were one game away from reaching the postseason. During a Christmas Eve loss at the hands of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mariota was carted off the field.

The injury was a broken fibula and with offseason workouts approaching, head coach Mike Mularkey plans on playing it safe with his franchise quarterback.

“Very cautious,” Mularkey stressed.

As Mariota prepares for his third season, the most important thing is making sure he’s 100 percent healthy. There should be a great understanding of the offense at this point.
