Jared Goff Cleared To Play Against 49ers

Find out if Jared Goff will play against the San Francisco 49ers.

Rookie quarterback Jared Goff took the biggest hit of his very young professional career last Thursday against the Seattle Seahawks. When seeking every yard possible, Goff was hammered by All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman. The hit forced Goff to leave the game for standard concussion protocol.

There was some question as to whether or not Goff would be cleared to play Saturday against the 49ers until now. According to interim head coach John Fassel, Goff is ready to go.

As the San Francisco defense preps for Goff, Fassel wants Goff to protect himself a lot better when he decides to run outside of the pocket.

“It can be hard, but he’s right,” Goff agreed. “I do need to protect myself better. Again, if I had seen (Sherman), I probably would’ve protected myself. He kind of came out of nowhere there. But he’s right. I do need to protect myself a little better. Trying to balance going for it with taking care of my body.”

With two games remaining, the Rams are evaluating what they have to work with moving forward. From coaches to players to the front office.
