Case against 49ers’ McDonald turned over to DA
According to a tweet from the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s office, San Jose police completed their investigation into the arrest of San Francisco 49ers defensive end Ray McDonald and turned the case over to prosecutors.
McDonald, who was arrested Aug. 31 on suspicion of felony domestic violence, is now at the mercy of the DA’s office, which is reviewing the case. It will decide what charges to file, if any.
There is no set timeline for the decision of charges for what is described by the police in a brief report as an incident that left a female victim with visible injuries.
The 49ers left McDonald in the starting lineup without punishment pending official charges.
