Week 16 NFL Picks
Find out which upsets will take place this weekend.
We continued our good fortune with another hot week picking games as we finished with our second consecutive 11-5 week. We’re hoping for more good fortune as we already have one in the bag with the Raiders victory over the Chargers on Christmas Eve.
Washington vs. Philadelphia
This is a virtual playoff game for the Eagles and we know what Chip Kelly does in playoff games….he loses. Kelly will coach scared and the Redskins will wrap up the NFC Least. ‘Skins 23, Eagles 17.
New England vs. New York Jets
With all of the Pats injuries, this sets up well for a New York upset. Unfortunately, you’ll never make a living picking against Tom Brady and the Patriots. I don’t think the Pats are the best team in football, but they’re in the conversation and it’s hard to imagine Ryan Fitzpatrick scoring enough points to win this game. Pats 20, Jets 17.
Houston vs. Tennessee
The Texans, yes the Texans will wrap up the AFC South by beating up on the Marcus Mariota-less Titans. Zach Mettenberger may be a better quarterback than anyone on the Houston roster, but they don’t have enough players around him to make a difference. Texans 24, Titans 13.
Cleveland vs. Kansas City
This seems like a pretty big mismatch on paper. The Chiefs love to run the football and the Browns are the worst at stopping the run. K.C. will win, but it won’t be a masterpiece. Chiefs 20, Browns 14.
Indianapolis vs. Miami
As terrible as Miami has been, this is a week to week league and the Dolphins are a tough matchup for the Colts. Dan Campbell will get his last win as a head coach on Sunday. Fish 31, Colts 17.
San Francisco vs. Detroit
It’s a meaningless game and there’s not a whole lot of reasons to watch it. It’s tough to imagine Blaine Gabbert winning another road game, especially against a pretty good Lions team. Honolulu Blue 24, 49ers 9.
Dallas vs. Buffalo
Normally there’s some mystery when a quarterback is making his first start. Unfortunately for the Cowboys, Kellen Moore was in Buffalo in preseason and Rex Ryan knows everything that he can and mostly can not do. Bills 35, Cowboys 13.
Chicago vs. Tampa Bay
The Bears have been circling the drain a bit and although the Bucs looked atrocious last week, they’ve had a week and a half to prepare for a team that they’re better than. It will feel like a Chicago home game, but it won’t matter on the field. Bucs 27, Bears 17.
Carolina vs. Atlanta
The Panthers nearly let a huge lead turn into a loss against a mediocre New York Giants team last Sunday. This has been a week of distractions with the Josh Norman- OBJ feud, and the Falcons are ultra-motivated. Upset special!!! Falcons 31, Panthers 29.
Pittsburgh vs. Baltimore
Remember when this game mattered? It wasn’t all that long ago, but the Ravens have ZERO chance to beat their rivals on Sunday. Steelers 38, Ravens 20.
Jacksonville vs. New Orleans
This has all the makings of an AFL style shootout, as both offenses are explosive and both defenses are leaky. Look for close to 1,000 yards of total offense before something ridiculous happens to the Jaguars to lose. Saints 38, Jags 34.
St. Louis vs. Seattle
Russell Wilson is playing the best football of his career and the Seahawks are peaking as they get ready for the postseason. The Rams have no quarterback. ‘Hawks 34, Rams 7.
Green Bay vs. Arizona
This is a potential postseason preview and it should be the best matchup of the day. The Cards are decided favorites and don’t think Mike McCarthy isn’t using that for motivation. Packers 24, Cards 23.
New York Giants vs. Minnesota
The Giants aren’t particularly good with Odell Beckham. They won’t get much done against a stingy Vikings defense without him. Fighting Bridgewater’s 23, G-Men 13.
Cincinnati vs. Denver
This game is truly anyone’s guess and it’s a shame that A.J. McCarron and Brock Osweiler are squaring off instead of Andy Dalton and Peyton Manning. The Broncos defense will show up in a big way against the former SEC signal caller. Broncos 24, Bengals 16.
