1. Detroit Lions: 1-7 (.551 strength of schedule)

The Pick: Joey Bosa, DE, Ohio State

Defensive end isn’t the biggest need for the Detroit Lions, but Joey Bosa is just too good to pass up. The Ohio State defensive end has the ability to step in day one and be a force on the edge for the Lions. Bosa is an extremely well rounded defensive end that is equally as dominate against the run as he is against the pass.

2. Tennessee Titans: 1-6 (.475 SOS)

The Pick: Robert Nkemdiche, DE, Ole Miss

The Tennessee Titans defense has been very suspect to this date and Robert Nkemdiche is the best defender on the board after Bosa. The Rebels defensive lineman would fit in nicely opposite of Jurrell Casey, which would give the Titans a really talented defensive line to build on for years to come.

3. Baltimore Ravens: 2-6 (.521 SOS – 1-2 division record)

The Pick: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss

With the injury to Eugene Monroe, the Baltimore Ravens have found out they are very suspect at offensive tackle. Monroe has always been serviceable, but Ricky Wagner and James Hurst have been downright awful this season. Laremy Tunsil is the best pass-protecting offensive tackle in the nation and he would instantly improve the Ravens offensive line.

4. Cleveland Browns: 2-6 (521 SOS – 1-0 division record)

The Pick: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis

The Cleveland Browns obviously don’t believe in Johnny Manziel; therefore, quarterback will be atop their list of needs once again. Paxton Lynch is the hottest name at quarterback right now and he is the only quarterback who could be worthy of a first-round pick. If the Browns can get past the level of competition he has faced, Lynch could be the next small-school quarterback to go high in the draft.

5. San Diego Chargers: 2-6 (.525 SOS)

The Pick: Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame

Viewed by many as the top offensive lineman in college football, Ronnie Stanley would be a great fit on the San Diego Chargers’ offensive line. Stanley is great as a run-blocker and a pass-protect and he would instantly give the Charger a cornerstone left tackle for the next 10 years. Stanley is just too good of a value to pass up at this point.

6. San Francisco 49ers: 2-6 (.549 SOS)

The Pick: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss

The San Francisco 49ers are a mess right now and they could potentially go a bunch of different directions with this pick; however, in this scenario they decide to bolster their wide receiver corps with the ultra-talented Laquon Treadwell. He would give the 49ers a big-time playmaker on the outside who can step in and be productive from day one.

7. Jacksonville Jaguars: 2-5 (.437 SOS)

The Pick: Vernon Hargreaves III, CB, Florida

The Jacksonville Jaguars get the best value of the draft so far as Vernon Hargreaves III falls to them at pick No. 7. Hargreaves is quite possibly the most talented player in this draft, but his stature may keep him out of the top-five. Hargreaves has the potential to be the next shut-down cornerback in the NFL with his ability to thrive in any type of coverage.

8. Chicago Bears: 2-5 (.521 SOS)

The Pick: Jalen Ramsey, DB, Florida State

While Hargreaves may be the most talented, Jalen Ramsey might be the most NFL-ready defensive back in the draft. Ramsey can play safety or cornerback, which increases his value on draft day. The Chicago Bears have struggled mightily in the secondary and Ramsey would give them an instant upgrade.

9. Dallas Cowboys: 2-5 (.542 SOS)

The Pick: Josh Doctson, WR, TCU

The injury to Dez Bryant has proven that the Dallas Cowboys are devoid of a playmaker on the outside opposite of him. TCU’s Josh Doctson would fix that immediately. Doctson is dominant at the catch point and he utilized some of the best route-running in the country. Doctson would give the Cowboys a playmaking threat opposite of Bryant and would allow the Cowboys’ offense to reach new heights.

10. Houston Texans: 3-5 (.483 SOS)

The Pick: Connor Cook, QB, Michigan State

The Houston Texans are in desperate need of a quarterback; therefore, they go ahead and reach for Connor Cook at this point. Cook is a good college quarterback who throws a nice ball with great accuracy. Although he struggles with pressure, head coach Bill O’Brien will hope to use some of his quarterback magic to hide Cook’s weaknesses early on in his career.

11. Kansas City Chiefs: 3-5 ( (.513 SOS)

The Pick: Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State

The Kansas City Chiefs have seen their offensive line improve immensely this season. That’s why they take a page out of the Cowboys book and use a high pick to really solidify up front. Ohio State’s Taylor Decker is the next best offensive tackle on the board and he would give the Chiefs another chance to develop a talented young tackle.

12. Miami Dolphins: 3-4 (.457 SOS)

The Pick: Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson

With the injury to Cam Wake, the Dolphins have to seriously consider looking for a replacement early in the draft. Shaq Lawson has been extremely productive thus far this year and he could lessen the blow if Wake isn’t able to return back to his pre-injury self.

13. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 3-4 (.458 SOS)

The Pick: Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have one of the premier young linebackers in the NFL with Lavonte David and now they can pair him with the best linebacker in college football with Jaylon Smith. The Notre Dame linebacker is an athletic marvel who would be a huge get for the Buccaneers defense.

14. Philadelphia Eagles: 3-4 (.496 SOS – 2-4 conference record)

The Pick: Mackensie Alexander, Clemson, CB

The Byron Maxwell experiment isn’t working and even though the Philadelphia Eagles may not be able to unload his contract, they need an upgrade at cornerback. Mackensie Alexander is the best cornerback on the board and he would be an upgrade over any of the Eagles’ cornerbacks. Alexander has been a dominant player for the Tigers this season and the Eagles should be ecstatic to have him.

15. Washington Redskins: 3-4 (.496 SOS – 3-2 conference record)

The Pick: Andrew Billings, NT, Baylor

The Washington Redskins have an underrated front seven and, in this scenario, they choose to strengthen it even more with Andrew Billings. The Baylor defensive tackle is one of the most powerful defenders in college football and he would be great as a nose tackle in the Redskins defense.

16. Buffalo Bills: 3-4 (.513 SOS)

The Pick: DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon

DeForest Buckner has the size and strength to be a dominant defensive lineman in the NFL. Who better to harness that talent that head coach Rex Ryan. Buckner could play defensive end or tackle in Ryan’s multiple schemes and give him another chess piece to utilize on Sundays.

17. New Orleans Saints: 4-4 (.450 SOS)

The Pick: Kenny Clark, DL, UCLA

The New Orleans Saints’ defense has been improved this season, but they still have a long ways to go. Kenny Clark would be a big get for them as he has been one of the most dominant defenders in the country this year. Clark is a great defensive tackle who is a monster against the run and he has the ability to contribute from the moment he gets on the team.

18. Seattle Seahawks: 4-4 (.488 SOS)

The Pick: Joe Dahl, OL, Washington State

The Seattle Seahawks, oftentimes, have a different taste in offensive lineman than the rest in the NFL. Before now, they have decided to not allocate a lot of resources to it, but with how bad their offensive line has played this season, they should see the error in their ways. Joe Dahl is a versatile offensive lineman that can play all five positions, which is extremely valuable.

19. Pittsburgh Steelers: 4-4 (.529 SOS)

The Pick: Tre’Davious White, CB, LSU

The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a hole at the cornerback position for a couple years and Tre’Davious White could be the answer the their problems. White is a long and rangy cornerback who excels in man and zone coverage.

20. St. Louis Rams: 4-3 (.484 SOS)

The Pick: Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State

The St. Louis Rams are a team on the rise, but they still have a hole at receiver that hasn’t been filled for some time. Michael Thomas has all the traits to become a very good receiver in the NFL and he would be a valuable weapon for Nick Foles in the future.

21. Indianapolis Colts: 3-4 (.483 SOS)

The Pick: Vadal Alexander, OL, LSU

The Indianapolis Colts’ offensive line has been a problem for years now and it’s starting to rear its ugly head. LSU offensive lineman Vadal Alexender can play guard or tackle, but he would be a bigger upgrade at guard for the Colts. Alexander is great as a run-blocker and he is more than capable of doing is part in pass protection.

22. New York Giants: 4-4 (.491 SOS)

The Pick: Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama

The New York Giants love big, physical linebackers and that is exactly what they are getting with linebacker Reggie Ragland. The Alabama linebacker is fantastic against the run and he is better in coverage than most will lead you to believe.

23. New York Jets: 4-3 (.461 SOS)

The Pick: Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State

The New York Jets need to improve their offensive line and Jack Conklin is the best one left on the board. Conklin is a solid tackle who has the ability to slide down to guard if need be. Conklin would give the Jets a good young offensive lineman who could be a solid player for years to come.

24. Oakland Raiders: 4-3 (.483 SOS)

The Pick: Joshua Perry, Ohio State, LB

The Oakland Raiders have been one of the most surprising teams in the NFL this season. While they have been good on defense, they are still weak in the middle of their defense. Joshua Perry is a touch and athletic linebacker who could solidify the Raiders up the middle for the foreseeable future and give the Raiders another talented player on defense next to Khalil Mack.

25. Minnesota Vikings: 5-2 (.496 SOS)

The Pick: Myles Jack, LB, UCLA

If it weren’t for a season-ending injury, Myles Jack would be long gone by now, but for the third year in a row the Minnesota Vikings get a fantastic linebacker from UCLA. Jack is the best coverage linebacker to come out of college in some time and he could play the “Will” in head coach Mike Zimmer’s scheme to perfection.

26. Atlanta Falcons: 6-2 (.420 SOS)

The Pick: Su’a Cravens, LB, USC

The Atlanta Falcons have been extremely impressive up until this point, but their defense still needs to be upgraded. Su’a Cravens is an athletic playmaker who would be a welcomed addition to the Falcons linebacker group. Cravens has a nose for the ball and he has some of the best instincts in the country.

27. Arizona Cardinals: 6-2 (.463 SOS)

The Pick: Shawn Oakman, DL, Baylor

The Arizona Cardinals struck gold the last time they took a tall, hulking and raw defensive lineman in the draft with Calais Campbell, so they do it again with Shawn Oakman. The Baylor defensive end is a huge work in progress, but you can deny that his ceiling is as high as anyone in this draft.

28. Green Bay Packers: 6-1 (.450 SOS)

The Pick: Jordan Jenkins, OLB, Georgia

The Green Bay Packers have a need on the edge and Georgia’s Jordan Jenkins would be a great option to fill the need. Jenkins doesn’t have prototypical size, but he is as good of a standup rusher as there is in college football. Jenkins would give the Packers a rusher who could potentially net double-digit sacks in the not-so-distant future.

29. Cincinnati Bengals: 7-0 (.435 SOS)

The Pick: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor

The Cincinnati Bengals have a very talented receiver corps with A.J. Green and Marvin Jones, but Corey Coleman is just too good to pass up at this point. Coleman is the most productive receiver in college football with a dynamic ability with the ball in his hands. He would give the Bengals a great receiver who can be utilized in a variety of ways and strengthen an already talented Bengals offense.

30. New England Patriots: 7-0 (.452 SOS)

The Pick: Forfeited. 

31. Carolina Panthers: 6-0 (.479 SOS)

The Pick: Jayron Kearse, S, Clemson

Kam Chancellor has been a pain for the Panthers for years, but the Panthers will look to return the favor with their version of the Seahawk safety with Jayron Kearse. The Clemson safety is a physical safety who can play in the box, but who can also cover in space. Kearse has the potential to be the next great safety in the NFL, which are extremely rare to come by.

32. Denver Broncos: 7-0 (.475 SOS)

The Pick: Ezekiel Elliot, RB, Ohio State 

Ezekiel Elliot is much more talented than his draft position would lead you to believe, but the devaluation of the running back in the NFL may lead to him dropping this far. Elliot is an extremely well-rounded running back who can run, catch and block as well as anyone.
