FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Strong safety William Moore (groin strain) and wide receiver Leonard Hankerson (hamstring strain) may not be available when the Atlanta Falcons (6-1) play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-4) at 1 p.m. ET Sunday at the Georgia Dome.

Both players were injured in the 10-7 victory over Tennessee and were declared “out” for Wednesday’s practice.

“We’ll have more information as we’re going (through the week),” coach Dan Quinn said. “But they’ll be limited for sure and won’t participate (in) Wednesday’s practice.”

Moore played 20 of 54 (37 percent) of the defensive snaps against the Titans before leaving the game. Hankerson played 8 of 75 (11 percent) of the offensive snaps.

–The Falcons are off to a 6-1 start and have been trying to improve under Quinn in his first season.

“It’s Tell the Truth Monday,” Quinn said. “It’s really an important day for us with the whole team each week. Getting right back to the truth of how we played, after wins or losses.”

The Falcons struggled at times to beat the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

“One of the things for the team that we talked about today is to find out what we can be and not settle for what we already are,” Quinn said. “I think that message resonates with me a lot because we’re always looking for a constant state of improvement.

“For instance, defensively we are just trying to improve our third down (conversion rate) and how we can affect the quarterback more. In that way, we improved. Our turnover margin, certainly is one that we’ll continue to work on all the time.”

–Falcons nickel back Phillip Adams, after a porous showing against New Orleans, was benched against Tennessee. Second-round pick Jalen Collins played right cornerback and Robert Alford slid down inside.

“Collins is one of our guys in our plan B development (program),” Quinn said. “He’s been working hard spending the extra time in practice. I thought his technique outside has been really improving. It was great to see that carry over into the game.”

Buccaneers admit mistake, boot Aguayo
