Cowboys WR Bryant returns to practice
The Sports Xchange
Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant returned to practice on a limited basis on Thursday.
Bryant broke his right foot in the third quarter of the first game of the season on Sept. 13 and hopes to play following the Cowboys’ upcoming bye week. Even if Bryant is up to speed physically and cleared to return, he might not immediately recognize the offense on the field.
The Cowboys are planning multiple changes on offense during the off week.
Quarterback Matt Cassel will replace Brandon Weeden in the starting lineup in Week 7 and other changes are being considered on offense.
Bryant was an All-Pro last season and entering the season had more touchdown catches than any other player in the past four seasons.
Bryant required bone graft surgery and a screw was inserted into his foot to promote healing. Often the graft can extend recovery time by up to one month.
Owner Jerry Jones and senior vice president Stephen Jones pledged optimism that Bryant would beat all estimates for his return.
