Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles suffered a Grade 1 sprained AC joint in his throwing shoulder during Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced on Monday.

At this point, the Jaguars don’t feel the injury to his right shoulder is serious enough to force Bortles to miss this Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. Bortles might even practice on Wednesday.

“Don’t be surprised if you don’t see him out there Wednesday, but don’t be alarmed by that,” coach Gus Bradley told reporters. “It’d be a situation where we don’t want him to be sore and affect his throwing mechanics.

“Right now, we think he should be in good shape [to play against the Texans].”

Bortles wasn’t affected by the injury against the Buccaneers as he passed for 303 yards and a career-best four touchdowns.

Backup Chad Henne will start against the Texans if Bortles can’t play.
