The Indianapolis Colts re-signed free agent quarterback Josh Johnson and placed cornerback Jalil Brown on injured reserve ahead of Thursday night’s game against the Houston Texans.

Johnson was with the Colts last Sunday but did not play in their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Matt Hasselbeck started the game in place of injured Andrew Luck.

Luck (shoulder) and Hasselbeck (illness) were listed as questionable Wednesday on the Colts’ injury report.

Johnson was waived Monday but has rejoined the Colts two days later. Hasselbeck was ill on Tuesday and did not practice.

–Owners passed a resolution to extend the NFL International Series through 2025, including the option to expand games outside of London’s Wembley Stadium.

The vote was taken at the NFL’s annual fall meeting Wednesday.

Three NFL games will be played in London this season, including last week’s Dolphins-Jets game that drew a sellout crowd of 83,986.

It’s that popularity that the NFL used to endorse the expansion of games to sites that could include Mexico City and Germany.

–New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will be fined approximately $9,000 for throwing a punch during Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills, ESPN reported.

The NFL is not expected to announce any punitive action or fine until Friday.

Beckham did not receive a penalty during the game for directing a punch at the helmet of Bills safety Duke Williams on Sunday after an interception return in the fourth quarter.

–The Buffalo Bills signed veteran kicker Billy Cundiff to the 53-man roster to compete with erratic Dan Carpenter.

Kickoff specialist Jordan Gay was released to clear roster space for the well-traveled Cundiff.

The Bills also signed wide receiver Denarius Moore, a former Oakland Raiders player, and released returner Marcus Thigpen.

–St. Louis Rams wide receiver Stedman Bailey indicated on Twitter that the NFL fined him for his nap celebration in the end zone after a third-quarter touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.

After Bailey caught an 18-yard scoring pass from quarterback Nick Foles with 5:53 to go in the third quarter of the Rams’ 24-22 win, Bailey dropped to the turf and acted as if he was going to sleep with the football under his helmet as a pillow.

Bailey’s actions didn’t draw a penalty during the game, but using the ball as a prop apparently will cost him.

–The Miami Dolphins announced coaching staff changes in the wake of head coach Joe Philbin’s dismissal this week.

Ben Johnson will serve as tight ends coach, Ken O’Keefe as a senior offensive assistant, Al Saunders as a senior offensive assistant and Mike Wahle as assistant tight ends coach.

Johnson replaces Dan Campbell, who was promoted to interim head coach after Philbin was let go Monday. Johnson was assistant quarterbacks coach for the past three seasons after joining the Dolphins as an offensive assistant in 2012.

–Officials are investigating a fire that engulfed an east Texas home owned by the grandfather of Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel.

A blaze that destroyed the home and the belongings inside appears to be suspicious, Smith County Fire Marshal Jay Brooks said.

–The Tampa Bay Buccaneers signed linebacker Orie Lemon to the active roster, waived injured defensive end Josh Martin and signed wide receivers Rannell Hall and Adam Humphries to the practice squad.

Lemon has played in one game for the Buccaneers this season after appearing in 10 games and starting three a year ago.

–The Chicago Bears promoted safety Demontre Hurst from the practice squad to the active roster and signed guard-center Ryan Seymour to the practice squad.

Hurst is a veteran of 16 games and two starts for the Bears during the past two seasons.

–After losing Tyrunn Walker for the rest of the season as a result of an injury sustained on Monday, the Detroit Lions needed help at defensive tackle.

So they turned to a familiar face, signing veteran defensive tackle Andre Fluellen.

This is the ninth time that the Lions have added Fluellen to their roster.

–Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch missed Monday’s game against the Detroit Lions with a hamstring injury, and it is remains uncertain whether he will be able to play this weekend either.

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said that Lynch’s status is still day-to-day, and that the team will not be able to gauge Lynch’s availability until later in the week.

Carroll hopes running back Fred Jackson will be able to play despite a high-ankle sprain suffered on Monday.

— Pittsburgh Steelers coach Coach Mike Tomlin listed second-year linebacker Ryan Shazier as questionable for Monday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers.

However, Shazier practiced with the team Monday and Wednesday and it appears likely he will return after a two-week absence because of a shoulder injury.
