The Chicago Bears placed center Will Montgomery on the injured reserve list, the team announced Tuesday.

The team did not specify the injury, but multiple media outlets reported Montgomery suffered a broken left tibia in Sunday’s victory over the Oakland Raiders and will be lost for the season.

The Chicago Tribune reported that Montgomery will require surgery.

Montgomery has played in 110 NFL games, including 75 starts, for the Carolina Panthers, New York Jets, Washington Redskins, Denver Broncos and Bears. He started each of the Bears’ first four games this year.

Montgomery was injured when his leg was rolled up from behind on the Bears’ third offensive play of the game.

The Bears signed Montgomery, 32, to a one-year contract in April to replace longtime center Roberto Garza.
