PHILADELPHIA – Running back DeMarco Murray gained 30 yards on his first rushing attempt for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday against Washington.

However, he carried the ball only seven times for six yards the rest of the game.

Murray, who had a league-high 392 rushing attempts with the Cowboys last season when he ran away with the league rushing title, has only 29 carries in three games this season. He sat out one game because of a hamstring injury.

Seventeen of those 29 carries have gained two yards or fewer.

“Do I think I’m touching the ball enough?” Murray said after the game. “No, I’m not. I don’t think I am. It’s how the plays are being called. I knew what I was coming in here to do (when he signed with the Eagles). I knew that I was going to be the guy.”

–In the Eagles’ first three games, QB Sam Bradford threw only seven passes of 20-plus yards and didn’t complete any of them. Against the Redskins, he completed 4-of-8 passes of 20-plus yards for 176 yards and two touchdowns. “You (media) guys act like we don’t want to throw the ball downfield,” Bradford said. “But I think we saw something we could take advantage (of) this week and we called a couple of plays trying to get those posts this week.”

–Left tackle Jason Peters (quad) played only six snaps against the Redskins on Sunday, leaving the game in the first quarter. Coach Chip Kelly provided no update on his status either after the game or on Monday.

–Right tackle Lane Johnson (knee) had an MRI exam on his knee Monday. He said he sprained it in the second half Sunday. Johnson went back in the game, but clearly was having issues with it. His status for this week is uncertain.

–Cornerback Byron Maxwell (quad) played only seven snaps against the Redskins before leaving the game. He did not return and his status for this week is uncertain. He was replaced by rookie Eric Rowe, who struggled on the outside.

–Linebacker Mychal Kendricks (hamstring), who missed the game a week earlier, started Sunday against Washington, but lasted only 11 snaps before re-injuring the hamstring. It is unlikely he will play this week against New Orleans.

–Linebacker Marcus Smith, the Eagles’ 2014 No. 1 pick, was a healthy inactive Sunday. Smith has been inactive for three of the first four games. The first two were because he was coming off a hamstring injury. He played in Week 3 against the New York Jets, but only on special teams. Chip Kelly said he was inactive Sunday because he preferred to use linebackers Brad Jones and Najeh Goode on special teams.
