Texans RB Foster a game-time decision vs. Falcons
The Sports Xchange
Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is a game-time decision and could make his season debut in Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Foster (groin) was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report but coach Bill O’Brien indicated the decision will be made shortly before kickoff.
Foster was injured on Aug. 3 during a training-camp practice.
“I’m just a chess piece out there,” Foster said at a post-practice press conference. “That’s the coach’s call. He’ll ask me how I feel and we’ll have some nice conversations about it. Ultimately, it’s the coach’s call how much he wants to play me out there.”
The Texans are entering a stretch of two games in five days – they host the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday – but O’Brien said that won’t be the determining factor on whether or not Foster plays Sunday.
“I don’t think it can factor in,” O’Brien said. “I think we’ve got to do whatever we’ve got to do to win this game. We’re not thinking about the following game. We’re thinking about this game.”
