Steelers activate LB Chickillo from practice squad
The Sports Xchange
The Pittsburgh Steelers elevated linebacker Anthony Chickillo from the practice squad to the active roster and released rookie defensive end Caushaud Lyons on Wednesday.
Chickillo landed a spot on the Steelers’ 53-man roster after the preseason before he was assigned to the practice squad on Sept. 7.
A sixth-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, Chickillo started 47 games at the University of Miami and had 170 tackles, including 15 1/2 sacks, and five fumble recoveries during his college career.
Lyons was an undrafted rookie signee in May by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who waived him before the Steelers picked him up.
