Kicker Caleb Sturgis was the last man standing in a tryout with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sturgis signed to replace Cody Parkey, who was placed on injured reserve along with starting right guard Andrew Gardner.

Parkey is out for the season. While the Eagles said Monday he had a leg injury, Parkey provided details Tuesday. He said he first felt tightness in the muscles in his groin in pregame and was diagnosed after the game with three torn muscles.

Parkey, wearing a pressure wrap on his right leg, said Tuesday that his injury won’t require surgery, but rest for the next 3-4 months.

Sturgis was a fifth-round pick of the Dolphins in 2013 and made 55 of 71 field-goal attempts.

Julian Vandervelde signed to the 53-man roster, his third stint with the team this calendar year.
