Fox: Bears QB Cutler hamstring injury ‘not severe’
The Sports Xchange
Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is day-to-day with a hamstring injury and is expected to be ready to play Week 3 at Seattle.
Coach John Fox said Monday that Cutler’s injury was a muscle strain.
“Anytime it’s not really severe, it’s good news,” Fox said, while refusing to disclose whether Cutler had an MRI exam to determine the extent of the injury.
Jimmy Clausen relieved Cutler in the second quarter, following Cutler’s hamstring pull incurred tracking down Arizona Cardinals defensive back Tony Jefferson. Jefferson intercepted Cutler to help stake the Cardinals to a 28-14 advantage.
Fox wouldn’t go into detail on plans for Week 3, when the Bears face the Seattle Seahawks.
Whether Cutler practices Wednesday will be a factor.
The Seahawks are 0-2 with losses at St. Louis and Green Bay in which they gave up a lead in the fourth quarter.
