Lions’ Ngata questionable for Sunday
The Sports Xchange
Five-time Pro Bowler Haloti Ngata was limited in practice on Friday and was listed as questionable for the Detroit Lions’ game Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings.
Ngata, a defensive tackle, also was limited on Thursday after missing Wednesday’s workout with a bruised shoulder he suffered in Week 1 against San Diego in his debut with the Lions.
Ngata recorded three tackles in the Lions’ 33-28 loss to the Chargers.
The Lions are counting on Ngata to fill the void created when fellow Pro Bowl tackle Ndamukong Suh bolted via free agency and landed in Miami.
The Lions also will be without tight end Brandon Pettigrew.
Pettigrew strained a hamstring while blocking on an extra point against the Chargers.
With Pettigrew out, the Lions will have only two healthy tight ends — Eric Ebron and Tim Wright.
