Bucs trim players from roster
The Sports Xchange
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers waived injured linebacker James-Michael Johnson and released tight end Cameron Brate, wide receiver Kaelin Clay and guard Martin Wallace from the practice squad on Tuesday.
Johnson joined the Buccaneers on Sept. 6 after he was claimed off waivers from the Kansas City Chiefs.
Brate and Clay were with the Buccaneers during the offseason and preseason. Wallace was added to the practice squad on Sept. 9.
Their departures leave the Buccaneers, who opened the season on Sunday with a 42-14 loss to the Tennessee Titans, with one open spot on the active roster and three vacancies on the practice squad.
