Raiders S Woodson dislocates shoulder
The Sports Xchange
Oakland Raiders safety Charles Woodson sustained a dislocated right shoulder Sunday, his agent, Carl Poston, told ESPN on Monday.
Woodson was hurt with 1:04 left in the game and Oakland facing a 20-point deficit against the Cincinnati Bengals. The timetable for his return is unknown.
With safety Nate Allen also sustaining a right knee injury in the game, the Raiders are set to re-sign safety Taylor Mays, CSN Bay Area reported. Mays was in training camp with the Raiders but failed to make the season-opening roster.
A former second-round draft pick out of USC, Mays started four games over four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals.
He also spent a year with the San Francisco 49ers and was with the Detroit Lions in training camp before requesting his release because he didn’t play in the preseason opener against the Washington Redskins. Mays subsequently signed with Oakland, which terminated his contract Sept. 5 in the cut down to 53 players.
