Official injured in Broncos-Ravens game
The Sports Xchange
DENVER — Injuries were not limited to the players during Sunday’s opener between the Denver Broncos and Baltimore Ravens.
Line judge Gary Arthur was knocked out of the game with a fractured collarbone after a first-quarter collision with a player along the sideline.
The game was delayed a few minutes while medical staff tended to Arthur, who was clearly in pain. He was helped onto a cart and tipped his cap to the crowd as he was driven off the field.
The officiating crew operated one man short after Arthur left.
Earlier in the first quarter, the Ravens lost left tackle Eugene Monroe to a concussion. He was ruled out for the remainder of the game and replaced by James Hurst.
