Seahawks trade for S McCray; trim roster

The Seattle Seahawks traded a 2016 undisclosed draft choice to the Kansas City Chiefs for safety Kelcie McCray on Saturday and made several cuts to reach the 53-man roster limit.

McCray has seven tackles (three solo) and one pass breakup, while adding five special teams tackles in 17 NFL games.

The Seahawks terminated the contracts of vested veterans Will Blackmon (cornerback) and Anthony McCoy (tight end).

Seattle waived linebacker Tyrell Adams, tight end RaShaun Allen, quarterback R.J. Archer, defensive end Obum Gwacham, safety Keenan Lambert, defensive tackle T.Y. McGill, cornerback Douglas McNeil III, safety Ronald Martin Jr., safety KeaVon Milton, safety Ryan Murphy, guard/center Will Pericak, linebacker Eric Pinkins, tackle Terry Poole, linebacker Alex Singleton, wide receiver Kevin Smith, running back Rod Smith, defensive end Julius Warmsley, and wide receiver Kasen Williams.

Also, cornerback Mohammed Seisay and running back Robert Turbin were placed on Injured Reserve and defensive tackle Jesse Williams was placed on Reserve/Non-Football Illness.
