The Seattle Seahawks reportedly agreed to a deal with veteran running back Fred Jackson on Friday.

The deal will be for one year, ESPN and NFL Media reported.

Jackson, 34, was released by the Buffalo Bills on Monday and quickly made a trip to Seattle after the Seahawks learned they would be without backup running back Robert Turbin (high ankle sprain) for several weeks.

With the Seahawks, Jackson will be reunited with top rusher Marshawn Lynch, his teammate and friend in Buffalo from 2007 to 2010.

Jackson started nine games for the Bills last season, rushing for 525 yards on 141 carries. He also caught a career-high 66 passes.

In his eight years in Buffalo, he rushed for 5,646 yards — placing him third on the franchise’s rushing list behind O.J. Simpson and Thurman Thomas.

Earlier this week, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said of Jackson, “He’s been a very good pass catcher and adept pass protector. He’s always been a good runner. He’s got great feel and sense.”
