Texans cut DT Nix, RB Hilliard
The Sports Xchange
The Houston Texans released defensive tackle Louis Nix and running back Kenny Hilliard, according to reports Friday.
Other players cut were defensive linemen Tevita Finau and Brandon Deaderick, wide receiver/return specialist Damaris Johnson, outside linebacker Kourtnei Brown, offensive lineman Matt Feiler, safety Corey Moore, center James Ferentz and inside linebacker Max Bullough, the Houston Chronicle reported.
The Texans drafted Nix in the third round of the 2014 draft out of Notre Dame. He spent his entire rookie season on injured reserve.
Hilliard was taken in the seventh round in this year’s draft. The LSU product likely would be a practice squad candidate if he doesn’t land elsewhere.
Finau had stints with the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and New York Jets.
