Ravens waive WR Nelson, 4 others
The Sports Xchange
The Baltimore Ravens released five players Friday, including safety-turned wide receiver Tom Nelson.
Nelson played safety for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009 and 2010 after making the team as an undrafted free agent and saw his last action in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2011. Nelson caught five passes for 57 yards in the preseason.
The Ravens also waived linebacker Andrew Bose, wide receiver Daniel Brown, tackle Blaine Clausell and cornerback Quinton Pointer.
Brown had a punt block and touchdown catch in Thursday night’s preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons.
